Giving Back

As Told By Chelsi Riordan, Age 17

My great grandfather, Clem Riordan, built the barn on Riordan Farm. The barn, like our family, has weathered many other storms and, most important, it's still such a strong symbol of our family!

Our farm produces corn, beans, alfalfa and beef, and our whole family works our nearly 200 acres.

My brother Sean and I are growing alfalfa on 10 acres to feed to our cattle. I'm proud to say we had a great yield and just baled our first crop!

Starting with my grandfather, we have all been members of FFA. We are very grateful to Campbell Soup Company and people across America who are helping us preserve our barn through the "Help Grow Your Soup" program, so future generations of Riordans can keep producing the good food you'll need to feed your family."

FFA chapters involved in the Riordan barn preservation are: Cissna Park, Tri-Point, Herscher, Crescent City,
Crescent City Alumni, IL Alumni
